Sweden Stop Mass Deportation to Ethiopia - Sverige stoppar massutvisningar till Etiopien

we request and demand respectfully that the Swedish Migration Agency take the following immediate and decisive actions:

  1. Halt all deportations and detentions of Ethiopian asylum seekers.
  2. Re-examine all rejected asylum applications by fully considering updated reports from the UN, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and governments, including the USA.
  3. Grant protection to journalists, activists, and human rights defenders, who are at a heightened and verifiable risk of persecution in Ethiopia.
  4. End family separations caused by deportations, in full compliance with the CRC and ECHR.
  5. Uphold Sweden's international obligations under refugee and human rights law and reaffirm Sweden's role as a defender of humanitarian values.
  6. Engage in a constructive dialogue with our Associations and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the lived experiences and risks of Ethiopian asylum seekers are fully considered.

Varför är det viktigt?

The individuals at the heart of this crisis are not merely asylum applicants; they are deeply integrated members of Swedish society. Many have resided in the country for up to 15 years, establishing their lives, contributing to their communities, and, most critically, raising children who have known no other home. The forcible removal of these individuals would inflict a devastating and irreparable harm upon families, severing bonds and causing a lasting psychological trauma to children who are, by all measures, Swedish in their cultural identity. This policy not only violates the spirit of human migration but also undermines the fundamental right to family unity.
