Urgent Petition: Protect the People of Iran Now
Over the past days, images and verified reports from Iran have shocked the world. According to multiple sources, up to 12,000 people may have been killed. International human rights organizations describe the situation as crimes against humanity.
The Iranian regime has threatened further mass executions. Bodies are displayed in public spaces as tools of terror. At the same time, internet and telecommunications have been severely restricted, effectively turning Iran into a nationwide prison for nearly 90 million people.
Iran has clearly demonstrated that it is unwilling and unable to protect its own people.
Under the UN principle of Responsibility to Protect (R2P), the international community has a legal and moral duty to act.
We demand immediate international action to ensure that:
- All violence against peaceful protesters stops immediately
- Uncensored internet access is fully restored
- Independent international human rights investigators are granted access to Iran
- Preparations begin for free and fair elections under international supervision
Silence enables atrocities. The people of Iran must not be abandoned.
