Stöd för fortsatt arbete med persontågstrafik genom Ragunda kommun

Ragunda municipality has long distances and limited travel options. Today, many residents are completely dependent on cars or buses, which makes everyday life vulnerable – especially in winter when road conditions are difficult or traffic is disrupted.

The railway that passes through the municipality is already in operation and is used daily for freight traffic. In the long term, also enabling passenger train traffic could strengthen accessibility, increase safety in the transport system and give more residents an alternative for travel to work, study, healthcare and public services.

The issue is also important from a long-term perspective. In order for Ragunda to be able to retain and attract residents and businesses, a functioning and robust infrastructure is required. Keeping the issue of passenger train traffic alive in planning and dialogue at an early stage increases the possibility of acting if conditions change in the future.
